The aquarium pump is an important component for clean water in the aquarium. By using an aquarium pump, the water is sucked into the filter and cleaned by filter materials. The water then returns to the aquarium as a current. While enriching the water with oxygen, the generated current is also appreciated by numerous aquatic life forms as it imitates the conditions found in their natural habitat.
The 40 watt pump has a flow rate of 2,500 litres of water per hour and a maximum delivery head of 2.3 metres. The pump can work in shallow water as well, as its suction piece is located on the bottom side.
To ensure a safe operation, the pump is equipped with an integrated thermal protection and an anti-dry-running system. The pump motor is sealed with high-quality resin adhesive and impresses with its good insulation. This makes the aquarium pump safe to use and easy to transport thanks to the carrying handle.
Note:
It is essential that the delivery rate of the aquarium pump is matched to the size of the aquarium filter. If the aquarium pump delivers too much water, the aquarium filter will overflow, which should be avoided by all means. In any case, the circulation cycle of the aquarium and the retention time of the aquarium water in the filter should also be taken into account.
Depending on the use, the optimum circulation cycle depends on various factors, e.g., fish, water plants, and desired water clarity. Other components of the filter circuit may have to be coordinated with each other.
